High School Class, part 2, 2-3 pm Tuesdays

99.00

This six-week course is the second half of a course that began in September. (Students are more than welcome to join in for the second six weeks even if they did not take the first six weeks.)

Students should bring a camera; a DSLR is preferred, but any camera with a few settings will work. Topics will include technical issues such as the roles of aperture, shutter speed, and ISO; posing techniques for portrait photography; rules of composition for both portrait and landscape photography (and breaking the rules to achieve different results); role of focal length; use of natural and studio lighting, including different lighting patterns; sources of inspiration from art history to modern photography; macro photography; and other topics of interest to the particular class. The course will be primarily hands-on, since photography is best learned by doing. We will expand upon the in-class portions with take-home assignments to complete the number of hours required for elective credit if so desired.

Please note that tuition must be paid in advance or on the first day of class, and is $99 per six-week session; no refund is available for missed classes or classes canceled due to inclement weather, but I am happy to provide at-home assignments for any missed session.
